    THE POSITION
    We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott Valley, serving as our Administrative Specialist II supporting the Parks & Recreation Department. If you have a desire to serve the community, we encourage you to apply.

    Examples of Duties

    In this position you will:
    • Perform basic bookkeeping/accounting, prepare purchase orders and requisitions. Track and reconcile purchasing cards.
    • Assist in annual department budget administration, preparation and tracking.
    • Provide front-line customer service at the Parks and Recreation office, including walk-ins, phone calls and online inquiries.
    • Process facility rentals, park ramada reservations, program and event registrations including the collection and reconciliation of associated fees.
    • Support special events and seasonal programs by assisting with logistics, communication, and vendor/customer coordination.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate records and files. Data entry, mail distribution, ordering supplies, filing and records management.
    • Review department staff reports and materials for Town Council, Board and/or Commission meetings and enter materials into agenda management software as needed.


    Typical Qualification

    Needs to have/ be:
    • Associates degree and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative and fiscal experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent with six (6) years of progressively responsible administration and fiscal experience.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment background including driving record.
    • Ability to type/key 60 words per minute.
    • Working knowledge of procedures and policies; payroll and personnel administrative procedures and municipal methods, functions and services.
    • Excellent interpersonal communications and customer service skills.

    Compensation:

    The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a no-cost to individual health insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.

    The expected hiring wage is $26.08

    The full salary range is $26.08-$36.52

    Part-time regular employees:
    • General Leave: 125 hours the first 5 years then increasing after 5 years.
    • Holidays: Eleven (11) paid holidays prorated
    • Workers' Compensation: Southwest Risk Insurance; Subsidizes lost wages and provides medical benefits as mandated by the state for on the job work related illness or injuries.
    • Direct Deposit: Paychecks are deposited directly into the employee's bank account(s) on a bi-weekly schedule.
