    BACKGROUND

    The Los Angeles City Fire Department has a transfer opportunity for one (1) Personnel Analyst. The Personnel Analyst position will be assigned to the Department’s Equity and Human Resources Bureau, Human Resources Division.

    WORK SCHEDULE

    The Los Angeles City Fire Department offers 5/40 and 9/80 work schedules and has implemented a hybrid telecommuting program, which allows some classifications a minimum of two (2) in-office work days per week, and on the remaining workdays, employees may telecommute, provided that the employee has passed their probationary period. The specific in-office days are flexible and will be coordinated with Executive Management. The hybrid telecommuting program is subject to change.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Under the supervision of the Senior Personnel Analyst I, the Personnel Analyst position performs the following duties:

    • Assists in the coordination of filling vacant positions for the Fire Department with the development of selection criteria, interview questions, and rating packages; and provides guidance and assistance throughout the selection process, including determining applicable interview questions, relevant performance tests, and interview board composition;
    • Updates existing material and procedures to ensure their applicability and compliance with current Fire and Personnel Department policies and procedures. Reviews position descriptions for proper allocation prior to their submission to the department's Classification Analyst.
    • Provides technical assistance to Fire Department employees regarding policies and procedures, Civil Service Rules, City Charter, Administrative Code, and MOU provisions.
    • Processes all Workday transactions relative to the selection process for the department’s Civilian authorities & assists with other Workday transactions, as needed.
    • Assists with maintaining & providing Monthly Reports and stats for the department.
    • Attends training and performs other personnel related duties, as needed and assigned.
