The Department of Information Technology supports a wide variety of IT installations throughout the County, including networking services, communications, security, hardware support, enterprise systems, application support services, and application design and development. The department is comprised of five divisions: Communications, Technical Services, Enterprise Systems, Security, and Administration.
The Information Systems Manager II (ISM II) will be working in the Security Division. Under general direction from the Security Information Systems Division Director, the Information System Manager II (ISM II) plans, organizes and manages the daily activities of the Security Team. This position works closely with the Division Director to provide overall division leadership, assisting County customer departments with their Security compliance and investigation of any potential security compromises.

What you will typically be responsible for: - Providing management with adequate information for the overall department budget to prepare your group budget

- Planning, organizing the team, managing various systems, and applying change management procedures in rollouts of systems
- Working closely with the applications team and making recommendations for training to help your team provide great results that ensure projects are implemented on time and within budget
- Working with all County departments, their respective IT teams, and key organizational stakeholders, to improve Contra Costa County’s cyber readiness and response capabilities

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months. Other departments throughout the County may use the eligible list from this recruitment to fill future vacancies as well. Minimum Qualifications Education : Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer information systems, business administration, public administration, or closely related field.
Substitution for Education: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years and the completion of an AA degree that includes major course in computer information systems, business administration, public administration, or closely related field.
ANDExperience: Five (5) years of full-time experience performing information systems duties, two (2) years of which must have included supervisory and/or administrative responsibility in an automated information systems area for a medium to large size computer support facility.
Desirable Qualifications: - Possession of, or willingness to obtain, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
- Additional industry-recognized Information Security certifications
- Experience in information security incident response
- Security Operations Center (SOC) experience
- Graduate-level degree in business, information technology, or information security
- Experience managing or serving as a senior member of a cybersecurity team
- Experience developing and communicating information to executive management regarding cybersecurity issues, strategies, and status

Virtual Oral Interview: The virtual oral interview will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the job. Candidates must achieve an average passing score of 70% or higher on each of the oral interview competencies, as well as an overall passing score of 70% or higher.
