The Ted and Pat Jones Welcome Center at the Treloar Mercantile, 2 MKT Street, Treloar, Missouri 63378. This is a temporary, seasonal position, not to exceed 1,000 hours total during the length of the employment. This position will assist with the general opening and closing of the facility, customer service, retail, and interpretation.
Duration of Assignment: August through October 2025 and will be working weekends. The schedule for this position is Wednesday through Sunday. Days off are Monday and Tuesday.
- Greet and welcome park guests, provide information about the mercantile building, provide information about the history of the Katy Trail, surrounding areas, and provide excellent customer service.
- Open and staff the Ted and Pat Jones Welcome Center during regular operating hours: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, Wednesday - Sunday. Close and secure the facility at the end of your shift.
- Handle cash and resale for the building.
- Assist with cleaning of the facility, bathrooms, and building upkeep. Report any maintenance issues to the full time staff.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience/Special Job Requirements: - Experience with customer service skills.
- Experience with cash handling and retail.
- Experience interpreting an historic building and/or historic artifacts.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. Experience to be Gained: - Ability to perform retail sales, handle cash, and handle an inventory.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to visitors.
- Ability to interpret historical buildings and artifacts to the public.
