    The Position

    Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.

    The Nevada Health Authority (Nevada Medicaid) is recruiting to fill an Administrative Services Officer 4 position located in Carson City. Under the direction of the Deputy Administrator, the incumbent is responsible for oversight of the State's Medicaid program with responsibility for accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management. Primary duties include development, tracking, and monitoring of the Division's biennial budgets; ensuring expenditures are in conformance with federal, state, and agency rules and regulations and within budgetary limits; and development of comprehensive fiscal reports for submission to management. The incumbent will also develop internal controls with internal and external auditors and other entities, managing the Division's Cost Allocation and Federal Reporting programs which include reviewing, analyzing, auditing, and finalizing quarterly cost allocation and annual cost reports required by Nevada Medicaid.

    To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or a related field and seven years of professional experience in formulating, developing and analyzing agency budgets; fiscal management; and management of multiple business operations, two years of which were equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Additional Position Criteria This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.     Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
