DescriptionThe City of Laguna Beach is seeking a skilled, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented
Paralegal to support the
City Attorney’s Office in delivering high-quality legal services to the organization and community. This role is essential in assisting with public records requests, general liability claims, legal research, litigation support, contract and document review, managing legal deadlines, public meeting agenda preparation, interfacing with the public on behalf of the City Attorney’s Office, and other general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the California Public Records Act and litigation and/or claims management principles, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

QualificationsAny combination demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. A typical combination is as follows:
Experience: Two years of responsible journey-level paralegal experience.
Education: Equivalent to satisfactory completion of a program in paralegal studies from an American Bar Association-approved institution. Successful completion of at least two years of education at an ABA accredited law school may be substituted for the completion of a paralegal or legal assistant program.
