    Introduction

    The Human Services Rep I provides customer service to citizens and conducts activities at a Neighborhood, Senior, and/or Community Center within Human Services.

    Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $22.93/hour.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • No education or experience required for this position.
    Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
    • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.


    Essential Functions

    Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
    • Communicates effectively in person and on the telephone with patrons and/or program participants.
    • Performs on-site participant registration for leisure education classes.
    • Oversees nightly/daily room set-up/usage by reservation groups.
    • Sets up, tears down, and cleans up for special events, projects, and programs.
    • Uses personal computer to prepare quality written documents including accident and incident reports, event flyers, emails, and electronic timesheet.
    • Performscashier duties including greeting customers, handling inquiries, accepting payment of fees, handling cash according to city policy and procedures, issuing passes, and completing all necessary reporting and record keeping documentation.


    Work Environment/Physical Demands

    • Move objects up to 50 pounds a long distance (greater than 20 ft.) with assistance, such as setting up tables, sound and lighting equipment, booth frames, and lifting trash bags.
    • Visual and muscular dexterity to enter data or information into a terminal, personal computer, or other keyboard device.
    • Operate a motorized vehicle.
    • Work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
