Job Summary Who We Are Since 1989, Orlando Venues has served as Central Florida’s epicenter of sports and live en tertainment, with the City of Orlando department overseeing the Kia Center, Camping World Stadium, Tinker Field, Harry P. Leu Gardens, Mennello Museum of American Art and the Public Art program. Collectively, these diverse venues host high-profile sporting events like the NFL Pro Bowl Games, Orlando Magic NBA basketball and three annual bowl games along with big-name concerts including Paul McCartney, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and the massive annual EDC Orlando. Our venues also enrich the surrounding community with award-winning art exhibitions, immersive events and educational experiences throughout the year.
Starting Salary: $19.00 - $21.00 (based on experience) Job Description: Performs skilled work involving general maintenance and repair of infrastructure at the Kia Center and/or other areas assigned within Orlando Venues. Responsibilities include routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep of facility systems such as lighting, doors, basic HVAC, minor electrical, and carpentry repairs. May also assist with occasional plumbing-related tasks such as maintaining bathroom fixtures or clearing drains. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through periodic inspections, direct observation, and condition of facilities.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Minimum Qualification: - Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Basic understanding of carpentry, plumbing, and painting techniques.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, and maintenance checklists.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift 50LBS and preform physical tasks such as climbing a ladder kneeling and standing for periods of time.
Key Responsibilities:
General Repairs: - Perform maintenance on doors, locks, hinges, drywall, ceiling tiles, and other building components.
- Carpentry: Construct and repair shelving, furniture, door frames, and trim work as needed.
- Plumbing: Address basic plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, faucet replacements, and fixture installations.
- Painting & Patching: Paint interior and exterior surfaces, repair and patch drywall, and maintain a clean finish throughout city facilities.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic facility and equipment issues across electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, perform hardware tightening, minor adjustments, and ensure general facility upkeep.
Previous Experience in Building Maintenance, Facility Repair; or a skilled trade preferred. THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.
