The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
- Assist Programs with grant budget development.
- Meet with programmatic staff regularly to discuss and present budget status.
- Assist programs with expenditure recommendations and determining allowable expenses.
- Create and update spreadsheets to monitor grants for under- or over-spending.
- Work with the processing teams to address funding issues and ensure payments are made timely.
- Maintain up to date projections of payroll related to program operations.
- Provide fiscal expertise to and assistance to Bureaus/Offices you oversee.
- Maintain up to date projections of the payroll related to program operations.
- Coordinate coding and submission of the monthly State Data Center (SDC) bills.
- Run ITSD payroll detail for team member payroll tracking.
- Coordinate responses to payroll related errors.
- Attend MOVERS meetings and serve as a point person for MOVERS tasks and assignments.
- Assist in training new team members.
- Oversee and coordinate the Division's State Fiscal Year Budget Set-up. This will include working with DCPH staff to develop the formal data for the SAM II system and/or MOVERS.
- Assist in providing data required to develop both internal expenditure budgets and the Division's annual budget request submitted to the Governor's Office. These budgets include both state appropriation and grant budgets.
- Assist with the development of the division financial data for the Annual Budget Request. This will include working with DCPH Staff to allocate program descriptions to current year expenditures, develop the Form 6 and 7 data and assist with Program Funding Tracking data requested by the Division of Administration.
- Assist with the response to the Division of Administration's Quarterly/periodic Appropriation Status Reports. This consists of analyzing various financial data, preparing written responses projecting available balances, and making recommendation on how funding can be used.
- Respond to all special projects as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
Minimum Qualifications: - Ability to work within deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification.
- Ability to interpret Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Skill in applying varied acceptable and established accounting methods to resolve financial issues.
- Experience with managing federal grants
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Access
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
