Summary of position
Under general direction of the Police Chief, to coordinate a City-wide Emergency Management program ensuring the city is well-prepared and resilient in the case of any emergency. Working Directly with both Coconino & Yavapai County’s Emergency Management Programs as well as the State of Arizona Division of Emergency Management (DEMA) and other local municipalities.

Minimum qualifications
License or Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Management or related field and four (4) years of experience with Emergency
Management Administration. - Two years of supervisory experience
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, The Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) Emergency Management Professional Certification.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Professional Development Series (PDS) Certificate.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) Certificate.
- Completion of training using the National Incident Management System (NIMS), or Incident Command Systems (ICS), OR training in emergency support function methods and principles is preferred.
