    Job Description

    Location : Central Office - 123 Robert S Kerr Avenue

    Salary : up to $66,229, based on education and experience

    Full Time /Part Time : Full Time

    Work Schedule : Monday-Friday

    Primary Hours : 8am-5pm

    Position Description: The eHARS and Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for auditing incoming HIV, STI, and Hepatitis HL7 electronic laboratory reporting (ELR) to assess trends and conduct quality assurance; ensuring data is accurate and reported in a timely fashion. The position will establish and maintain professional relationships with laboratories, following up on reporting delays, inconsistent results and non-compliance. This position will be responsible for the retrieval and processing of laboratory and case report forms related to HIV, initiating follow-up and/or new diagnosis investigations. This position will also assist in reviewing ELR messages received in the on-boarding process.

    Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
    • Provide in-person and phone consultation with health care professionals, community

    • Review HIV /AIDS laboratory and case reports for data entry:
    • Determine whether reports are complete or need additional information and assign reports to Field Surveillance Specialist/Disease Intervention Specialist.
    • Monitor, close and perform data entry of completed cases.
    • Conduct data quality assurance on Chlamydia and Gonorrhea laboratory reports ensuring completeness and accuracy.
    • Acts as agency subject matter expert of the Enhanced HIV/ AIDS Reporting System (eHARS):
    • Manage and assign appropriate access.
    • Provide technical assistance and training.
    • Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for enhancement.
    • Develop a biennial laboratory assessment tool to document laboratory capacity to run HIV, STI and Hepatitis related testing.
    • Analyze and interpret the assessment results using statistical research programs and other methods, recommend solutions to enhance lab reporting accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist in the improvement of SHHRS HIV/AIDS surveillance performance by contributing to discussions related to the Standards Evaluation Report (SER) and other quality assurance and evaluation plans for HIV surveillance and field investigation activities.
    • Review and assist in the preparation and completion of all CDC grant Annual Performance Reports and assigned data quality projects.
    • Assist in processing data requests, providing clear and concise results.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree which includes nine semester hours in statistics, statistical research methods, economics, demographics or social research statistics plus two years of experience in technical statistical and research work; or a master’s degree in social science, business administration or public administration which includes nine semester hours of advanced statistical methods.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; carry light items; drive an automobile. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position. Occasionally, in state overnight and weekend travel may be required. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job
