What You Will be Doing as a Board of Elections Voter Registration Service Coordinator: - Coordinate the daily operations of staff on the Voter Registration team to ensure all incoming work is processed promptly and without backlog
- Monitor voter registration workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across the team
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Voter Registration team, providing guidance, addressing questions and resolving routine issues
- Work closely with the Voter Services Manager to assign staff strategically, coordinate priorities and evaluate operational needs
- Work collaboratively with the Absentee Services Coordinator to assess workload demands and determine when to reallocate staff between voter registration and absentee tasks, enhancing overall efficiency and coordinated support
- Understand and apply federal and state election laws and directives to maintain accurate procedures and develop staff resources
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets to track productivity and performance metrics
- Develop and maintain updated voter registration documents, forms, and internal process guides
- Coordinate mailroom processes related to voter registration, including sorting, collecting, scanning, and distributing mail
- Deliver exceptional customer service to voters via phone, email and in person by issuing forms and applications, guiding users on available tools, and resolving inquiries accurately and professionally
- Research and respond to inquiries from the public regarding voter registration laws and procedures
- Create public-facing educational materials such as flyers, posters and guides to promote and inform about voter services
- Assist with election and post-election duties such as provisional ballot processing and recording voter history
About Our TeamThe Wake County Board of Elections is responsible for conducting all elections held in Wake County. The Board locally administers state and federal election laws. Principal functions include establishing election precincts and voting sites; appointing and training Precinct Officials; preparing and distributing ballots and voting equipment; canvassing and certifying the ballots cast in elections and investigating any voting irregularities. It maintains voter registration and participation records and provides public information on voters and elections. This position is in-person and will work at the Board of Elections Operations Center. We support a million Wake County residents and ensure elections are accessible, transparent and fair.
The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Associate's degree
- Two years of experience in business environment
- Notary Public
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Experience in public administration or elections
- Experience leading a team
- Experience working in local or state government
