Museum Associate Curator to lead operations at the Victor Valley Museumin Apple Valley. This exciting role involves overseeing the Museum’s daily activities while working collaboratively with the curatorial team to develop and implement engaging exhibitions and programs. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between the Museum and the High Desert community, and will take the lead on public engagement and school outreach initiatives that enhance the museum’s visibility and impact.

Modified Benefits Option: Professional Memorandum of Understanding: SEIU CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.
Travel: Travel throughout the County is required, as incumbents work at the various Museum sites throughout the County. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Physical Requirements: Physical requirements of the position include the following: frequent sitting, walking, and standing; frequent lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting and carrying of materials up to 100 pounds.
Availability: Incumbents will be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Museology, Public History, Art, History, Anthropology, Biology, Paleontology, Geology or closely related field.

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of full-time professional experience in public programming, education, or administration experience in a museum setting or public education institution.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in one of the qualifying fields and have experience in the development of exhibits and developing and presenting school and educational public programs.
