Pay: - $39,799.68 - $48,949.44

Examples of Work: - Maintain a systematic flow of clinical information to and from all departments in the facility
- Supervise the daily operation of the medical record department
- Collect and compile data for statistical reports by manual or automated systems for use by administration, medical staff, and other departmental/governmental agencies
- Retrieve information and prepare reports for administrative and professional staff
- Supervise the release of information and the preparations of detailed summaries of medical records in response to requests from health providers, attorneys, courts, or other agencies
- Code diagnoses ensuring adherence to the International Classification of Disease Adapted Manual
- Maintain organized Electronic Health Record (EHR) for active and discharged Veterans
- Oversee the supervision, recruitment, retention, performance management, discipline, clinical instruction, and feedback to the staff
- Assign and manage EHR access levels for staff, healthcare professionals and surveyors
Qualifications: Administrative Support Assistant ($39,799.68) - 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting working with medical records.
Health Information Technician ($48,949.44) - Must demonstrate the following which may be obtained through work experience as a health information professional or through completion of an associate’s degree in Health Information Technology accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA):
- Knowledge of current medical terminology, classification and coding systems, and accreditation standards and guidelines
- Knowledge of health information record analysis
- Knowledge of evaluation of health information services
OR - Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician
