    Job Location: Jefferson City, MO

    Dates: Mid January 2026 - Mid May 2026 (Approx. 12-15 hours/week, will work with school schedule)

    We are currently looking for a part-time Communications intern in the Office of the Director. Our internship will offer you a dynamic, skill-building spring semester in agricultural communications. Each day we work to support and promote the state's top economic driver.

    • Photography - shooting various photo stories and providing event coverage.
    • Videography - shooting and editing for website, social media use and various Department video requests.
    • Graphic design - create print and website graphics for the Department, including websites, brochures, handouts, signage, etc.
    • Special Events - help plan and assist with special events during the internship as needed.
    • Social media - assist our team in growing our social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Flickr.
    • Writing - support writing needs of the Department, including news releases, editorial pieces and website content.
    • Assist with monthly Employee Newsletter and current weekly e-blast.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be a current college student with a minimum 3.0 GPA pursuing a degree in Agricultural Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
    • Ability to work at the MDA office in Jefferson City a minimum of 12 hours per week in the Spring (mid-January to mid-May)
    • Beginners’ knowledge, at minimum, of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
    • Understanding of basic photography and graphic design principles
    • Beginning to intermediate knowledge of videography
    • Interest in Missouri agriculture

    This is a part-time temporary non-benefited position.
