    The Role:
    The Senior Director of Citywide Sales is a strategic leader responsible for driving new business development and positioning Las Vegas as the premier destination for citywide meetings, incentives, conventions, and trade shows. In addition to managing a portfolio of high-impact business opportunities, this role also leads and develops a team of National Sales Managers while supporting their growth, optimizing performance, and aligning efforts to organizational goals. The Senior Director cultivates innovative partnerships, leads with a business-first mindset, and ensures both their team and the destination are positioned for long-term success.

    Identify and Drive New Business Opportunities.
    • Identify and generate new opportunities within the meetings, conventions, incentives, and trade show industries across multiple market segments.
    • Develop and implement innovative business development strategies, collaborating with teams in marketing, analytics, and resort properties.
    • Leverage industry trends, data, and relationships to forecast opportunities and guide proactive sales efforts.
    • Build strong sales pipelines in both existing and emerging markets, focusing on high-impact business while prioritizing opportunities with potential for repeat or rotational value, ensuring long-term growth and demand.

    Represent the Authority
    • Travel domestically and internationally to represent the organization at events such as sales calls, trade shows, client development events, and trade missions.
    • Serve as a thought leader and Ambassador for Las Vegas within the meetings industry, engaging with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers.
    • Cultivate relationships across industry associations and networks to strengthen Las Vegas’ presence and influence.
    • Drive awareness and preference for Las Vegas through client-facing activations and industry involvement.
    Lead Strategic Sales Initiatives
    • Lead targeted outreach and prospecting campaigns that align with LVCC occupancy goals and long-term sales priorities.
    • Executes strategic sales plans and contributes to department-level planning, forecasting, and goal-setting.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and resort partners to coordinate bids, site inspections, and customized proposals.
    • Lead and mentor a team of National Sales Managers, fostering a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs and data-informed decision-making.
    Drives Sales Planning and ROI Accountability
    • Manage a defined budget and event portfolio, focusing on new business generation, planning, execution, and ROI tracking.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of all sales activities, prospecting efforts, and client engagements in CRM systems, following internal sales standards.
    • Contribute to a performance-driven culture through clear KPIs, regular reporting, and data-informed decision-making.


    What We’re Looking For:
    • Over 10 years of experience in destination sales, citywide convention sales, or business development within the hospitality, travel, or tourism industry.
    • High School Diploma required, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred.
    • Excel in fast-paced, relationship-driven environments, building and nurturing connections with high-level executives.
    • Strategic and growth-oriented, with a passion for building new initiatives and driving innovation from the ground up.
    • Proficient in using data, KPIs, and performance metrics to shape strategy and demonstrate success.
    • Industry certifications such as Certified Meetings Professional (CMP), Certified Exhibit Management (CEM), or Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) are preferred.
    • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Exceptional communication skills, able to engage effectively with clients, vendors, management, and Ambassadors in various formats.
    • Skilled in public speaking and presentations, with the confidence to respond to questions from executive teams, board members, clients, and stakeholders.
    • Strong writing skills, capable of preparing reports, budgets, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
    • Commitment to inclusivity, valuing differences among individuals, and fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Quick to address customer inquiries or complaints, with experience interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, and the business/resort community.
    • Willing to travel extensively to support business needs.
    • Current U.S. Passport for international travel required.
