OBO is seeking a Contract Administrator who will serve as the administrator for high-level contracts. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
- Performing full compliance monitoring functions on select contracts, with a special focus on high priority contracts.
- Troubleshooting medium to highly complex contract compliance issues and managing the resolution process, with internal and external stakeholders.
- Overseeing and auditing contracts related to vendors’ non-compliance with the City’s Supplier Diversity Program.
- Conducts training for OBO staff and external parties, as needed, on contract compliance processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Serving as liaison for execution of disparity studies.
- Representing OBO on select committees and internal or external meetings, when appropriate.
- Recommending and assisting with implementing improvements to OBO’s compliance policies, processes, and procedures.
- Assisting with the execution of the OBO’s Contract Compliance Division strategic plan.
- Performing quality assurance audits of contract compliance monitoring activities.
- Preparing analytical reports, as assigned.
- Performing supervisory responsibilities, as assigned.
- Performing special projects, as needed, and other position-related duties, as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position requires visits to outdoor construction sites in addition to working in an office environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Government or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two years of contract compliance experience are required. Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: YESA valid Texas Driver’s License and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving (AP 2-2).
PREFERENCESPreference will be given to candidates with demonstrated strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to details; excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and demonstrated knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel; adapts wells to changes.

SALARY INFORMATION Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate’s qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
