The Job
Facilities Management is recruiting for a Parts Specialist who will be responsible for tracking, procuring, storing, locating and issuing parts for a wide variety of building trades, including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical, as well as general maintenance items used in the upkeep of County buildings and facilities. Additional duties include maintaining a computer database of parts used, received and issued; upkeep of inventory and records; placing and monitoring orders; and reconciling credit card purchases and accounting codes for payment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background check which includes fingerprints, medical exam, and review of employment history.
Physical: Must be able to reach, lift, and move heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., either manually or with the aid of lifting devices.
Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
*Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience working in a parts procurement environment with primary responsibility for all of the following: locating, ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing materials and parts utilizing a computerized inventory management system.
Desired Qualifications
Forklift experience and computer skills using Internet search engines, word processing, and spreadsheet programs are highly desirable.
