This recruitment will establish an employment list to fill current and any future vacancies within the Resource Management Agency. The anticipated life of the employment list is six months. Current vacancy is with the Resource Management Agency (RMA) located at the Visalia Road Yard. The anticipated life of the list is six months.Typical Duties- Leads and participates in all phases of new and repair concrete work including (ADA ramps, sidewalks, curb and gutter, wingwalls, etc.) But not limited to, setting forms, mixing concrete, wheeling and pouring concrete, screeding concrete to a level plane and troweling, grooving and edging the surface, and installing truncated domes.
- Conduct measurements and calculate concrete quantities for sidewalks, curb and gutters, ramps, retaining walls, and other concrete construction jobs.
- Interpret verbal and written orders, work sketches and plans.
- Act as lead worker over work crews as locations make necessary
- Provide assignments of job duties.

here. Minimum QualificationsMinimum qualifications are used as a guide for establishing the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license which are required and equivalent to the following.
Education: - Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12) grade.
Experience: - Four (4) years in journey-level experience in concrete placement, curb and gutter installation and finishing, supervisory experience gained as a journey worker. In addition, this position also requires a general knowledge, understanding and the operation of equipment relevant to road maintenance.
- Two (2) years in a supervisory role overseeing and managing a crew/staff
- Four (4) years in the operation of a variety of heavy equipment in construction including servicing equipment, keeping operation records and supervisory experience gained as a journey level worker.
Knowledge of: - Concrete tools, practices, mixtures, and their elementary properties.
- Use of tools, materials and equipment for general road maintenance.
- ADA accessibility requirements.
- Special concrete mixes.
Skill/Ability to: - Work and communicate effectively with people of various education and socioeconomic backgrounds by respecting beliefs, interpersonal styles and behaviors of both clients and co-workers.
- Operate contemporary office equipment inclusive of computer, keyboard, and all applicable electronic equipment.
- Work with and supervise work crews.
- Safely operate a variety of construction type equipment.
- Service and make minor repairs on equipment.
- Measure and set up forms, lay, finish, and repair concrete .
License or Certificate:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid, Class “A” California driver's license.
- Attain a “Class A” driver’s license with no restrictions and a tanker endorsement two (2) weeks prior to the expiration of the one-year probationary period. Attainment of the “Class A” license is a condition of employment.

Limit of 300 hours.
Sick Leave Accrual: 12 days per year with unlimited accumulation, 60 hours of which may be used toward family sick leave.
