    The Position

    Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The State of Nevada, Division of Social Services, is currently recruiting for two (2) Personnel Analyst 2 positions. We are seeking detail-oriented and analytical professionals to join our dynamic HR team. These positions play a vital role in supporting the development, implementation, and administration of human resource programs and services across the state of Nevada to our 2400+ employees.

    As a Personnel Analyst 2, you will perform advanced professional HR work in such areas as classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, employee relations, organizational development, and workforce planning. This position requires a strong understanding of HR principles, state and Federal employment laws, and the ability to provide consultative guidance to agency leadership and staff. Key responsibilities include interpretation and application of HR policies, Administrative Manual, Federal and State laws, procedures and regulations. Provide guidance and training to agency staff on HR best practices. Coordinate and manage recruitment and selection processes. All aspects of employee relations to include counseling, conducting internal investigations, progressive disciplinary actions, grievances, performance evaluations, attendance/leave issues, audits and special projects. In addition, these positions include supervisory responsibilities. These incumbents will provide leadership, training and oversight to subordinate staff, ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
