    The Comprehensive Cancer Program Manager position is an exciting, engaging position that focuses on providing oversight and implementation of the comprehensive cancer work plan and working with partners across the state of Missouri on cancer prevention, early detection and treatment, and improving cancer survivorship to lessen the burden of cancer across the state of Missouri.

    The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Provide oversight for the National Comprehensive Cancer Control grant, work plan (to include program recommended changes), and program to include high priorities with health equity and policy to reduce the burden of cancer across Missouri
    • Develop and implement new or revised program goals, strategies and objectives to sustain and grow programs and services.
    • Serves as policy lead for program to provide expertise as subject matter expert .
    • Develops and submits CDC Annual Reports. Reviews and approves of reports from Office of Epi.
    • Oversees the coordination of the integration of the DHSS Comp Cancer Plan with the State Action Plan implementation.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with key partners across the state of Missouri via the Missouri Cancer Consortium and internal DHSS programs for strong collaboration in cancer control.
    • Serves on statewide committees, including the Executive Committee focused on cancer prevention, improving treatment, and the quality of survivorship.
    • Oversee, develop and provide cancer education and trainings across the State of Missouri.
    • Oversees and implements evidence-based interventions. (U)
    • Develops and oversees program budget.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BS with 2 years of public health or health-related field, or a MPH with the below experience
    • Applicant should possess experience with personnel and budgetary management; contract development and management; and grant writing and administration. Prior experience and skill in collaboration within an organization and with external partners. Prior program experience in public health programs relating to risk reduction for chronic disease highly desirable. Two years of experience in public health or health-related field (preferably in cancer related areas and public education), broad knowledge of cancer related topics, experience in contract monitoring and development, experience in working with groups such as coalitions or advisory boards, grant writing abilities, speaking and writing skills
