Full-time position available with the Parks Department, Planning & Engineering Division, located at 4600 E 63rd St.
Salary Starting at: $5,173/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.

Responsibilities- Prepares studies, designs, plans, drawings, specifications, and reports for development of park and recreation areas and facilities.
- Prepares detailed grading and site development plans, including time and cost estimates; makes field inspections of work in progress.
- Prepares necessary change orders, amendments, drawings, and plans for approval by a professional superior or department official.
- Manages multiple projects related to park development and/or repairs and improvements for parks, aquatic facilities, trails, playgrounds, athletic fields, and parks jurisdictional streets.
- Interacts with the public throughout project delivery.
- Ensures that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget, while managing changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs; reporting and escalating to management as needed; and creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in any professionally recognized architectural/engineering discipline as required by the hiring authority. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as prescribed by the City.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
