    Workdays & Hours: Sunday-Thursday 9:00AM - 6:00 PM* *Subject to change

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work consists of assisting in different programs in BARC Outreach and resolving all customers' requests accurately, investigating specific situations, ensuring all are resolved professionally in person, over the phone and via email.
    • Educate the public on all current BARC information (Adoptions, Foster, Rescue, Volunteer, etc.)
    • Compiles and maintains accurate reports and data entry records.
    • Records accounts of exchanges as well as original correspondence to customers.
    • Works on special assignments and at organized events to promote BARC and educate citizens within the community.
    • Performs other special duties and projects, as assigned.


    WORKING CONDITIONS

    This position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, reaching over-head at times, swift walking and work in indoor/outdoor weather conditions. Minor discomforts of some animal odors.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION

    Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or a GED.

    EXPERIENCE

    Two years of administrative or customer service experience are required.

    An Associate’s Degree may be substituted for the two-year experience requirement.

    **Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. **

    Preferences shall be given to candidates that possess excellent customer service skills and experience; experience in an office setting; and working with animals.
