    Role

    Yavapai County Board of Supervisors District 2 is seeking a highly qualified Executive Assistant to provide professional administrative and executive support to Supervisor Jenkins. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic public service environment supporting an elected official and contributing directly to the effective operation of County government.

    The Executive Assistant serves as a key liaison between the Supervisor’s office, County departments, external agencies, and the public. Responsibilities include managing schedules, coordinating meetings, preparing correspondence and reports, and ensuring the efficient flow of information. The position requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.

    Hiring Range: $53,536.36 to $68,258.84 (depending on qualifications)
    Full Salary Range: $53,536.36 to $82,981.32

    Major Duties, Responsibilities

    • Performs a variety of administrative duties: manages appointment calendars; formats, composes, and types correspondence; develops, plans, and coordinates various internal and external public information activities; schedules, gathers materials and prepares agenda for various meetings; conducts research and performs special assignments.
    • Receives calls and assists constituency in all realms of inquiries, communicates citizen complaints through the proper channels, and ensures that appropriate responses are disseminated.
    • Assists with research, budget preparation, and various other related tasks.
    • Coordinates special activities, such as community meetings, public ceremonies, community outreach events and other special events; may attend meetings/events to represent manager/supervisor.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:
    A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible general office experience.

    Additional Requirements:
    Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

    • Departmental office procedures.

    Ability to:
    • Provide confidential administrative support to the Department Head and staff.
    • Facilitate special projects within Department.
    • Review or check the work of others to ensure conformance to standards.
    • Comprehend and make inferences from written material.
    • Work effectively in various subordinate positions in their absence.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
    • Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
    • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
    • Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
    • Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
    Work Environment:
    The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
