    The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office is recruiting for an Instructional Media Specialist* to create, develop, and manage high-quality, on-demand learning tools that support prosecutors and staff in completing required state and departmental trainings. This position plays a key role in delivering modernized training through instructional content, digital media, and internal communications. The Instructional Media Specialist will collaborate with prosecutors and departmental leadership to produce instructional videos and maintain the District Attorney’s internal digital content database to ensure timely access to training materials and resources.

    Key Responsibilities of the Instructional Media Specialist include:
    Content Creation & Learning Management System
    • Create an online resource center and manage engaging digital and multimedia content to support training and internal communications.
    • Create and maintain the department’s learning management system and online resource center with timely and relevant content.
    • Monitor educational or digital content delivery, trends, and emerging platforms to identify opportunities that support departmental objectives.
    • Utilize or implement artificial intelligence tools for learners to search for key content or to create edited transcripts of trainings or workshops.
    • Prepare and issue communications to staff for a variety of needs, such as requirements for educational credits, modifications to work methods or procedures based on legislative changes.

    Visual Media Production
    • Design and produce high-quality graphics, images, and videos for training and communication purposes.
    • Collaborate with the assigned prosecutor to assist with creating content, consistency with existing material, and required approvals during development of content for seminars and workshops.

    Reporting & Analytics
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of digital and multimedia content using analytics tools.
    • Prepare reports on engagement metrics, audience reach, and content effectiveness to guide future communication strategies.

    Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
    • Work closely with assigned prosecutors to ensure consistent messaging across department platforms.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect information, historical documents, and subject-matter expert input for department projects and training initiatives.
    • Attend training as needed to film content or gather information for the online resource center,

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    • Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
    • Shifts: Some positions may require incumbents to work some evenings, weekends, and on-call.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must meet both the Education and Experience requirements: Education A Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business/Public Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Mass Communications, Television/Broadcast Production, or other closely related field with emphasis on digital educational content and delivery, computer-aided digital content development, learning management systems, or artificial intelligence tools for educational programming.

    Note: Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. -AND-
    Experience Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in one (1) or more of the following areas:
    Writing and editing educational/informational materials or brochures for internal or external publications. Organizing, coordinating and overseeing outreach programs to promote organization events and activities High resolution digital photography Videography, which included video editing, set design, and post production activities.

    Note: Qualifying experience must also include extensive experience with creating and posting content for a variety of social media platforms within a business/agency setting. Posting content to personal social media accounts is not considered qualifying.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience:
    • One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience over a support services staff
    • Executing internal and external videography requests, including pre-production, production, and post-production editing
    • Creating high performance educational content, which included developing a strong branding strategy to increase staff engagement
    • Utilizing advanced features of Adobe Creative suite or similar design program
    • Drafting communications utilizing proper grammar with the ability to edit others' written materials
    • Presenting information verbally to audiences of varying sizes
    • Working in a government/public sector setting and responding
    • Capturing high resolution photographs at a variety of events
