The Police Chief actively engages and partners with 14 department heads, with a team culture that inspires collaboration and engagement. This is an at-will position that reports to the City Manager, oversees five direct reports, and approximately 240 staff, and an annual budget of approximately $69.2 million. The ideal candidate is a seasoned law enforcement executive, with at least seven years of administrative experience, including three years in administrative and management roles, and must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. The next Chief needs to bring a high degree of professional independence, sound judgment, with a cultural sensitivity, and commitment to promote inclusion and embrace diversity. The new Chief will be expected to cultivate and maintain effective partnerships with the community, elected officials, city staff, residents, and other law enforcement agencies to respond to emerging needs. The Chief must also be adaptable, empathetic, and an engaged leader with the highest level of integrity.
The annual salary range for the Police Chief is $220,226- $295,124; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
