Performs hand watering, fertilizing, pruning and hand weeding along with other basic landscape and maintenance tasks. Primary duties include driving throughout downtown and hand watering trees, planter pots, planter boxes and other landscape areas while removing weed growth, trash and other landscape debris from planting areas. Employees assigned to this job must operate a City vehicle (truck) along with a watering tank mounted to a trailer, small gas-powered water pumps, spray nozzles and other small hand tools and equipment. Work is assigned by the Downtown Maintenance Program crew leads and supervisors and is inspected for quality and productivity .
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate. Valid Florida Driver's License and home phone or cell phone required. Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 40 pounds . Ability to read, write, and follow instructions required. Prior landscape maintenance experience desired.
VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW. VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
