    This limited/temporary opportunity is ideal for experienced finance professionals who thrive in analytical roles and want to apply their accounting and reporting skills in a public sector environment. This role offers a hybrid work schedule (in-office/remote), as determined by the Director of Finance.

    Job Description

    As a member of the Finance team, you’ll apply core accounting principles to compile, analyze, and report financial data for the District. Your work will directly support internal and external reporting, audit preparation, and general ledger accuracy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Compile and analyze financial data to prepare general ledger entries and document business transactions by cost center and accounting period.
    • Analyze and reconcile contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and non-expense items such as inventory and fixed assets.
    • Participate in the reconciliation of balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
    • Perform reconciliations of general and payroll cash accounts and assist with credit card and bank transaction reviews.
    • Support the Finance Department with special projects related to audit readiness, ERP implementation, and detailed financial reporting.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a full-cycle general ledger environment.
    • Strong understanding of ERP systems, financial reporting, audit processes, and bank reconciliations.
    • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Public sector accounting experience.
    • Familiarity with fund accounting and cost center tracking.
    • Experience handling complex reconciliations or financial project management.
